Lauren Sher Budabin is an Emmy award-winning showrunner, producer, writer and director who has been the creative visionary and producer behind various non-fiction films, television series and digital content. Whether it's sports, food, culture, or lifestyle, Lauren focuses on illuminating the depth and complexity of her subjects, capturing their authenticity and nuance, through her personal relationships with talent and her exceptional storytelling abilities. As co-executive producer for season 2 of Hulu’s TASTE THE NATION, Lauren drove the creative direction for the series, and co-wrote the script with celebrity host Padma Lakshmi, earning the Hollywood Reporter’s “10 best TV shows of 2023”, and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Hosted Non-Fiction Series. Lauren was the supervising story producer of Netflix’s ABSTRACT: THE ART OF DESIGN, which showcased the world's most notable artists and designers and won an IDA award for Best Episodic Series. Lauren showran and directed NIGHTGOWNS, a hybrid short-form biographical series about celebrity drag queen Sasha Velour and the cast of her on-stage drag revue, which won the Realscreen award for Best Short Non-Fiction Series. Lauren post-produced and oversaw the editorial and graphics teams for RATS, the world's first "horror documentary" which premiered at the 2016 Toronto Film Festival and earned two Critic’s Choice Documentary nominations.
